first, i stop to do change here until i get you Permission. second, I do manualy change to fix conflicts, that automatic bot ignor (and run it on new hebrew article). for this reson my, bot didn't do a lot of change, but the change that it do, you done get from other bot. if the conflict is in this wikipedia, the conflict will don't fixed and the other bot continue to ignor it. In my view bot flags should not be served on a first come first serve basis as the idea here is to serve communities only. You may want to consider the need for redundancy to have at least two bots for any task as after all the one bot can be knocked offline for whatever the reason and the wiki would suffer from the loss of service. Additionally, if the bot were to be unblocked it would make about 2 edits per week based on your statistics. Hardly something that would flood the RC feed even without a bot flag.
I also requested the botflag to handle interwiki links. However, please do not unblock the bot as it is configured to handle double redirects on all mediawiki wikis. I do not want to modify the code unnecessarily if something can be worked out.

  1. That your bot does only interwikis on is.wiki and gets the block removed
  2. That both the block and the bot-flag gets removed

Your edit on the article Eminem doesn´t seem right. At the time of the edit the sr-wiki page existed, it was not a redirect and it does not show up in the deletion log, so I don´t really see why the link was removed. I am not sure because that was a couple years ago now, but there was a bug in the pywikipedia at one point where it was removing some links with non-latin characters for a couple languages. Yes, I reached the same conclusion (pywikipedia bug #3081100). The error was fixed by updating to python 2.7.2 and I can see in your most recent global contribs that you allready have done that. Problem solved.

The edits on the article Lugo on fo.wikipedia at 1 february 2012 don't look right (namely: 1 2 and 3). There are in particular two things I dislike about those edits. First of all they are a part of an bot edit war with Luckas-bot. Secondly your bot added an link to an article on Hebrew wiki that was deleted on 31. January 2012 at 23:54, 53 minutes before your bot made the first edit.
The reasons for the edit might be an unicode problem, a recent bug in pywikipedia or even an outdated warnfile (that is, if you are using that option).

I saw that, the history looks awful. My best guess is that the replication lag might be at fault and my bot not running at full speed. I'll ask xqt if there might have been an unicode problem. As far as xqt knows, there are no unicode problem in P2.7.2 or others, except for 2.5 which had probs.

His explanation can explain the first edit on fo.wiki (that your bot fetched the he.wiki page before the page was moved and deleted). For the second time the bot would have fetched the page again after the first edit had been made. When the bot did that, I would expect that the bot would have seen that the page doesn´t exsist and skip it. But since that is not what happened, that´s the part I don´t get about his explanation.
The replication lag on s3 of that day (February 1st) was 18 seconds at midnight (00:00) (1), 32 seconds at 01:00 (2) and 39 seconds at 02:00 (3). I do not really think the replag was high enough to have any significant impact.
I agree with two arguments that Xqt made. First of all the bot does not have an unicode problem (as it passed the unicode test). The second is that seeing the interwiki log would be useful. To find the logfile, you will need to find the folder you installed pywikipedia into, go to the "logs" subfolder and there will be an file named interwiki. That´s the interwiki log. I know about the log. It's already gone. As soon as the log reaches 500kB it gets scrapped by my little cleaner script. I think I need to change that for future reference and just save it under a different name. The bot doesn't save the file right away, I use the option -async, so if there's a delay before that, say zhwiki gives an error 500 or such, the bot is delayed for some time. If it happens with different wikis that could be the cause. AFAIK. I expect botmasters to update their bot regulary. I have noticed that your bot uses a custom made interwiki.py file. Even with that custom made interwiki.py file in place, you still can update every other pywikipedia script, i.e. it isn't a reason for not updating your bot.

I have compared translations of bot-messages from translatewiki.org with your bot contributions. Since those messages obviousally appear in every pywikipedia bot´s contributions, they do give some indication of how frequently a bot is updated. In your case your bot is still using bot-messages from november 2011 (or even further back).

I´m going to respond to your comment and make a decision on the bot-flag request. After all you did update your bot and the next step was to look over your bot edits.
Your bot is not the only one that edited without an bot-flag on is.wiki at the time. The most likely cause has to do with the proposal to implement the global bot policy on is.wiki. Since the proposal was not answered within one week, it was assumed that it was accepted. At this point the pywikipedia code added is.wiki to an list over wikipedias who allow global-bots (in the family file) and all bots who used the "global" option in user-config.py began to edit on is.wiki. Later is.wiki was removed from the list on meta and after I had pointed out that is.wiki (among others) shouldn´t be on the pywikipedia global bot list in late october 2011 then it was removed there as well. Anyway, it´s not really an important issue right now, so I am going to leave it at that.
I have checked your most recent global contributions, as the edits here are more than one year old. Those edits came out fine and your bot is running on sufficient number of wikipedias. So, I´m not only going to unblock your bot, but also grant it the bot flag.

Det kan godt tage et stykke tid før jeg når op på 20 stk., da jeg i først omgang vil kigge på de nordiske og et par af de større.
Den grønlandske er pt. gået i stå - der har et stykke tid ikke være nogen som har bidraget med nyt. Og den har hellere ingen bureaukrat - men dog er der en dansk administrator.
