Til þess að nota aðgerðirnar dec2dms og dms2dec þarft þú að skipta hnitinu í tvennt. Aðgerðirnar taka eingöngu við öðrum ásnum, þ.e. Norður/Suður eða Austur/Vestur.

Dec2dms

breyta
  • Fyrsta gildi: Hnit á tugaformi.
  • Annað gildi: Plúsgildi, venjulega N (fyrir norður), E (fyrir "east") eða jafnvel A (fyrir austur).
  • Þriðja gildi: Mínusgildi, venjulega S (fyrir suður), W (fyrir "west") eða jafnvel V (fyrir vestur).
  • Fjórða gildi: Hérna er tilgreint á hvaða formi hnitið á að vera. Þessi form eru:
    • dms - Gráður/Mínútur/Sekúndur
